[manjaro] show date / time on the taskbar

Problem
Ubuntu has a top panel where you can see the date / time. I prefer the 24h system (North American am / pm makes me sick), I want to see the day of the week, and I also want to see the date. How to have it with Manjaro?

Solution
I could put all these pieces of info to the taskbar:

datetime

Install the xfce4-datetime-plugin package and add it to the panel. Set its properties the following way:

  • layout format: date only
  • date format: custom
  • date format template: “| %H:%M:%S | %a | %b. %-d” (without quotes)
